Keyword DensityWe provide a Keyword Density tool.
The tool allows you to input up to 30 keywords. It will then check the keyword density for each of these keywords. In fact, it not only checks the keyword density of these keywords in the body text of your web page, but in these areas also:
If you are trying to rank in search engines for a specific keyword and you use it too infrequently, search engines may not consider your page relevant enough to that keyword. However, use that keyword too frequently and a search engine may think you have put that keyword onto the page deliberately to try and trick the search engine to thinking your page was very relevant to this keyword. The search engine could even remove your page from results for that keyword if it thought that you were doing this. So it is extremely important that your keyword density is correct.
It is impossibly to say as there are so many factors and each search engine gives differing importance to Keyword Density. Of course, it also matters whether you need to rank for this keyword or your visitors are from another source and you are trying to get a sales message across, for example. However, a rule of thumb is between 1% and 3%.
To make things easy, we actually rate your results and we highlight those results where we think the keyword density may be too low or too high.
