1. SOME OF THE MODULES IN RANKVISION SEEM TO BE AVAILABLE ELSEWHERE FOR FREE, WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY RANKVISION?
Some of the information RankVision provides can be obtained elsewhere for free, that is true. A good example would be “where does your site rank in Google for various keywords?” Of course, you can go to Google.com and look yourself, and it doesn’t cost anything. But how long does this take and how often do you do it and can you remember where you ranked for a particular keyword last month, or last year? What RankVision does is automate the process for you. RankVision checks where your site ranks for the keywords you want to rank for, displays them to you, and keeps an historical record for you. RankVision enables you just to log into one place and check many things in that one place, saving you hours of work. Of course, not all the things in RankVision are available elsewhere so you need to pay to get the full package of modules.
2. CAN I TRUST RANKVISION NOT TO DAMAGE MY WEBSITE?
RankVision is exceptionally secure. Any data we keep is under the strictest security guidelines. We don’t actually access your website in any event, and so if there were any problems with RankVision it would not affect the running of your site in any way.
3. DOES RANKVISION HAVE ACCESS TO MY WEBSITE?
No, we have no access to your website and RankVision cannot alter anything on your website.
4. CAN I HAVE ACCESS TO MY DATA IF I LEAVE?
Yes, of course. If you ever leave RankVision you may request from the RankVision Support Team a Data Download File. They will give you a CSV with all the data ever collected about your site. It will include Traffic Data, Rankings, Backlink Data, Disallowed visitors etc.
5. WHERE DOES RANKVISION GET THE INFORMATION ABOUT MY WEBSITE?
There are 3 ways that RankVision gets information about your site:
a. We crawl your website at regular periods to gather various information. Things like Keyword Density, your Internal Linking Structure, Broken Links, problems with Java Scripts or Images. That kind of thing we find by crawling your site.
b. We use external tools to gather some information. So we go to Google to find out your rankings in Google. We go elsewhere to find out which sites are linking to you. We go somewhere else to look if anyone is copying any of your content, etc.
c. For some modules we ask you to put a JavaScript code on the pages of your website. For example, we need this for the Traffic Counter. The JavaScript file reports back to us visitor details (like how many visitors have come to the page and where they have come from)
6. IT SAYS THAT RANKVISION ‘CRAWLS’ MY WEBSITE, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
RankVision sends a web crawler to your website. A web crawler is a program that is designed to gather data from a particular site (or many sites) in a methodical and automated manner. Our web crawler visits every page of your website and looks for many things such as whether they are any broken links, or broken images, or things not loading correctly etc.
7. CAN MULTIPLE PEOPLE ACCESS MY ACCOUNT?
Yes, if you wish. We have set up RankVision so that you can allow as many people as you want to access your account. You can control which people access which modules. This is great if you want your marketing department to access traffic and user information, and your programmers to access information about broken links and page loading errors. In addition, if you set up anyone else with access, you have the ability to send them a message, from within each module, with one click of a button. This allows you to quickly and simply tell people when you find something that you want fixed or worked on.
8. HOW MANY MODULES ARE THERE?
We have 18 different modules at the moment. However, we regularly add more modules. By using RankVision you become part of a community of similar website owners. We find that it is most important to get this community working together. So we encourage each user to let us know, both of any improvements we could make to existing modules, but also if there are any new features that they would like to see. Often website owners experience similar issues with the running of their websites and so when we know that a few people would benefit from a new service, we will include that within RankVision.
9. WHICH ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT MODULES?
Every website owner has their own difficulties in regard to running a successful website. So each website owner has a different view on which module is the most important. However, we think that these three offer the most general use to all website owners:
a. The Traffic Counter – enabling you to see your traffic data
b. The Traffic Gatekeeper – enabling you to block visitors from various countries from accessing your site at the touch of a button.
c. The Content Protector – where we allow you to check that no one on the internet has taken your texts and published them without your permission
10. CAN GOOGLE SEE WHAT I AM DOING?
Google.com does not allow people to use web crawlers to crawl Google’s search results. So, if you want to know where you rank in Google and you want to do it frequently then it is difficult for you to do that without crawling Google. However, we are able to do this for you and Google will not know when we look at their results, that we are looking for your site.
